A breakthrough program with more than 125 tempting, nutrient-dense recipes for thyroid conditions, Hashimoto’s, adrenal fatigue, menopause, endometriosis, fibroids, breast health, PMS, PCOS, and other hormonal imbalances.
Millions of women suffer from the life-altering, often debilitating symptoms resulting from hormonal imbalances: stubborn weight gain, fatigue, brain fog, depression, insomnia, digestive issues, and more. The good news is that most of these conditions are reversible. Integrative hormone and nutrition expert Magdalena Wszelaki knows this first-hand. Developing hyperthyroidism and then Hashimoto’s, adrenal fatigue, and estrogen dominance propelled her to leave a high-pressured advertising career and develop a new way of eating that would repair and keep her hormones working smoothly. Now symptom free, Magdalena shares her practical, proven knowledge so other women may benefit.
Drawing on current research and the programs she has developed and used to help thousands of women, she offers clear, concise action plans for what to remove and add to our daily diet to regain hormonal balance, including guides for specific conditions and more than 125 easy-to-prepare, flavorful, and anti-inflammatory recipes that are free of gluten, dairy, soy, corn, and nightshades and low in sugar.
Based on twenty hormone-supporting superfoods and twenty hormone-supporting super herbs—with modifications for Paleo, Paleo for Autoimmunity (AIP), anti-Candida, and low-FODMAP diets—these healing recipes include a terrific selection for everyday meals, from Sweet Potato and Sage Pancakes and Honey Glazed Tarragon Chicken to a Decadent Chocolate Cherry Smoothie.
With make-ahead meals, under-thirty-minute recipes, and time-saving tips and techniques, Cooking for Hormone Balance emphasizes minimal effort for maximum results—a comprehensive food-as-medicine approach for tackling hormone imbalance and eating your way to better health.

Refreshingly unique combination of sage hormone advice plus wonderfully delicious and therapeutic recipes – just magnificent!
A magnificent book with a refreshingly unique combination of sage advice for hormone balancing, together with wonderfully delicious and therapeutic recipes and meal plans. It will inspire all of us women to fall in love with hormone balancing cooking plus guide us in learning to listen to our bodies as our hormones become more balanced! The hormone quiz and overview is great, as is the coverage of gut health, low blood sugar and blood sugar balance, and the importance of the liver in hormone health (love the 3-legged stool analogy!)The dairy reintroduction categories are practical – with explanations about cow and goat dairy and fermented dairy – not something we often see addressed.I love the PFF breakfast (protein/fat/fiber), the 14-day meal plans, the fun tips like using the lemon rind and why, the section on castor oil packs, the seed rotation rationale/recipes, the Food Apothecary with superfoods and herbs and spices, and the fabulous healing teas. I also I love that this approach encompasses Paleo, AIP, Anti-candida and Low fodmapsAnd of course, I love the recipe section, with all the beautiful and yummy images and the lovely blurb above each recipe – it feels like Magdalena is right here in the kitchen with me.These are some of my favorite recipes: Coconut Yogurt, the Hearty Beef Stew, the Zucchini Olive Muffins, the Seriously Mushroom Soup, and the Raspberry and Green Tea Lime Melties (this last one is also my favorite picture in the book).I’ve even had the good fortune of having Magdalena actually make some of these recipes for me and some colleagues at a conference (how lucky were we): the Farmer’s Wife Breakfast and the Decadent Chocolate Cherry Smoothie (I switched out the chocolate for carob and added some extra protein powder).I can’t wait to try the Grain-Free Pizza with a topping of medicinal mushrooms, the Tart Cherry Sorbet, and Kudzu Calming Pudding! It’s a recipe book I highly recommend for all women and for practitioners who work with women. I know my community of anxious women are already enjoying it and it’s a book I’ll be recommending over and over again!Trudy Scott, Food Mood Expert, Nutritionist and author “The Antianxiety Food Solution”

I love this decadent cookbook for so many reasons
I love this cookbook for so many reasons. First and foremost, it addresses the issue of hormones! It starts with explanations and has two week actual meal plans once you take a survey and find the right program for you. If you have every suffered from mood swings, PMS, bloated stomach or constant fatigue, this book is a must for you. Not only is it one of the most vibrant and gorgeously attractive cookbooks I have ever seen, it is loaded with vital information explained in easy to follow way to help you heal by balancing your hormones through simple methods. I love the idea of the Food Apothecary with 20 superfoods and superherbs that while may not be in your everyday cooking, should be and such a simple mindset shift to start feeling good and to implement. Most everything can be found at your local grocery or health food store. I can get overwhelmed by too many hard to find or weird ingredients. These recipes are simple to implement and I love the diet modifications to change to Anti Candida or Low fodmaps or whatever else you need. I particular love your choices for smoothies (Chocolate Cherry-huge favorite!) and salad dressings. This literal is the best money you can spend. So start your gut healing today through this amazing cookbook. Your worth it!

My favorite new cookbook
I love this book. I found Magdalena’s website after searching for food options during a cleanse mandated by my holistic dermatologist. I’ve suffered from cystic acne for what feels like my whole life, have highly irregular periods, which led to some issues getting pregnant and then when I did get pregnant I miscarried. Changing how I eat has completely changed how I feel, my acne has gone away, and I feel so much better with more stable energy throughout the day. I love the wisdom, the science, and the graphics. I love that there are online printable on her website as a companion to the book. I love the recipes – they are unique and from all over the world, not just your standard cookbook recipes. I love how much care Magdalena takes to figure out how to make common food items “cleanse approved” — the pizza recipe is the best recipe I’ve found that meets my gluten-, dairy-, egg-free needs. I love the protein-packed breakfasts. I can’t wait to try the chai. This recipe alone is worth the cost of the book — no more sugar-loaded Starbucks chai (which gives me a headache anyway). Best of all is the full diet plans, which makes doing a “cleanse” easy. I have recommended Magdalena’s work to so many friends and bought multiple copies of the book to give to my clients as a gift. Thank you Magdalena for dedicating your life to this work. I’ve even gotten my husband into all of this and he’s sad the hormone imbalance quiz isn’t designed for men!
