So far, so good. I take it along side a couple capsules of White Kidney Bean extract for use in controlling carbs and sugar spikes. And cravings. I had a combo supplement, and when it was time to reorder the price had gone way up. So I decided to just buy the two supplement separately. I find that it helps keep me in control, and my blood work looks good.My brain just fires up around sweets. In a really weird way. It isnt about portion control or “moderation”. Maybe for some it is.. but I know I am not alone in the intense pull toward sweets and a lot of them at once. I’m fine, then when presented with a plate of cookies, my brain is pushing me to take the whole plate. And often I would eat an entire box, batch of cookies. Or a dozen donuts. Or a whole cake. Or entire carton of ice cream. The drive would be strong and irrational. I would not want anything sweet all day, just eating normal amounts of healthy food. Then, something would snap in my brain, and I would be compelled to acquire massive amounts of sweets. Doesnt matter if I had them in the house or not. I would find a way. It would be like my body was taken over by this monster seeking out sweet foods. So weird. So many many many years of this.. basically binging.Taking control through supplementation has helped over all other behavior modification techniques. I found that my low vitamin D levels contributed to this (vitamin D is actually a hormone. It regulates many functions, but an interesting one calorie regulation. When it is low, like when getting ready for hibernation, our need to pack in calories in quickest way possible is high. When levels are normal or high, we do not have that drive. Worth the research, including scientific papers/pubmed on this). Then I had had the opportunity to test out a carb blocking product (I thought it was BS), but then I noticed I was able to lose weight even with higher carb meals. So hence my continuing with the supplements including this chromium picolinate. I also add in Matcha green tea (not a fan of taste, but it is so worth the benefits- antioxidants, non jittery energy kick, and further reduction in desire for sweets).I’m down 40+ pounds in the past 4-5 months. I am not trying real hard because my appetite, desire for the very foods that are incredibly calorie and sugar laden have greatly reduced. By simply not wanting these foods, I automatically reduced my caloric intake without trying.Be consistent, note your behaviors (what changes, what doesn’t), adjust dosing as necessary, think about adding in a couple extra supplements– but be consistent.
